Refund Policy

This policy covers refunds for both MiniShoots subscriptions and photographer session bookings.
1. MiniShoots Subscription Refunds
1.1 Starter Plan (Free)
The Starter plan is free to use. No refunds are applicable as there is no subscription fee. The 4.9% commission per booking is non-refundable once a payment is processed.
1.2 Pro Monthly Subscription ($99/month)
- No Pro-Rated Refunds: Monthly subscriptions are billed in advance and are non-refundable
- Cancellation: You may cancel at any time; access continues until the end of the billing period
- No Partial Refunds: We do not issue partial refunds for unused time
1.3 Pro Annual Subscription ($399/year)
- 30-Day Money-Back Guarantee: Full refund if requested within 30 days of purchase
- After 30 Days: Annual subscriptions are non-refundable
- Cancellation: You may cancel at any time; access continues until the end of the year
1.4 Apple In-App Purchase Refunds
Pro subscriptions purchased through the iOS app are managed by Apple. To request a refund:
- Visit reportaproblem.apple.com
- Sign in with your Apple ID
- Find your MiniShoots subscription purchase
- Select "Request a refund"
- Choose a reason and submit
Apple determines refund eligibility according to their refund policy, not MiniShoots's policy.
2. Photographer Session Booking Refunds
Important: Refunds for photography session bookings are managed by individual photographers, not by MiniShoots. Each photographer sets their own refund and cancellation policies.
2.1 Photographer-Managed Refunds
When a client books a photography session through MiniShoots:
- Payment goes directly to the photographer's Square account
- The photographer is responsible for all refund decisions
- Refund eligibility depends on the photographer's cancellation policy
- MiniShoots provides tools to process refunds but does not control refund decisions
2.2 Standard Cancellation Timeline
While policies vary by photographer, typical refund timelines are:
- 48+ Hours Before Session: Full refund (most photographers)
- 24-48 Hours Before Session: Partial refund or deposit retained
- Less Than 24 Hours: No refund or deposit only retained
- No-Show: No refund; photographer may charge penalty
2.3 How to Request a Session Refund
To request a refund for a photography session:
- Contact the photographer directly (contact info in booking confirmation)
- Review their cancellation policy
- Request cancellation according to their policy
- Photographer will process refund through MiniShoots if approved
2.4 Deposit Bookings
- Deposit Refunds: Photographer determines if deposit is refundable
- Balance Refunds: If session is canceled before balance is due, balance refund is automatic (no charge occurs)
- After Full Payment: Photographer determines refund eligibility for full amount
3. Refund Processing Time
3.1 MiniShoots Subscription Refunds
- Apple IAP Refunds: 3-5 business days after Apple approval
- Processing: Refunds return to original payment method
3.2 Session Booking Refunds
- Photographer Initiated: 5-10 business days via Square
- Square Processing: Depends on original payment method and bank
- Partial Refunds: Same timeline as full refunds
4. Non-Refundable Items
The following are non-refundable:
- MiniShoots commissions (4.9% on Starter plan bookings)
- Square payment processing fees
- SMS and email notification costs
- Monthly Pro subscriptions after billing date
- Annual Pro subscriptions after 30 days
5. Chargebacks
5.1 Subscription Chargebacks
If you dispute a MiniShoots subscription charge with your bank instead of requesting a refund:
- Your account will be immediately suspended
- We reserve the right to terminate your account
- Please contact us first to resolve billing issues
5.2 Session Booking Chargebacks
If a client disputes a session booking charge:
- The photographer is responsible for responding to the dispute
- MiniShoots will provide booking records to support the photographer
- Square's chargeback policies apply
6. MiniShoots's Role
MiniShoots provides the platform and tools but:
- Does not control photographer refund policies
- Cannot force photographers to issue refunds
- Is not responsible for disputes between photographers and clients
- Provides refund processing tools but does not hold client funds
7. Exceptional Circumstances
In rare cases, we may issue refunds outside this policy for:
- Technical errors that prevented service use
- Duplicate charges
- Unauthorized charges
- Service outages that significantly impacted use

8. How to Request a Refund
8.1 For MiniShoots Subscriptions
Email: billing@minishoots.com
Include:
- Your account email address
- Subscription type (Pro Monthly or Pro Annual)
- Reason for refund request
- Purchase date
8.2 For Session Bookings
Contact the photographer directly using the contact information in your booking confirmation email.
9. Policy Updates
We may update this refund policy at any time. Material changes will be communicated via email. Continued use of MiniShoots after changes constitutes acceptance.
