Cancellation Policy

This policy covers cancellations for both MiniShoots subscriptions and photography session bookings.
1. MiniShoots Subscription Cancellations
1.1 How to Cancel
You can cancel your MiniShoots subscription at any time through:
- iOS App: Settings → Subscriptions → Cancel Subscription
- Apple Settings: Settings → [Your Name] → Subscriptions → MiniShoots → Cancel
- Email Support: support@minishoots.com
1.2 Pro Monthly ($59/month)
- Immediate Cancellation: Cancel anytime, no penalties
- Access Continues: Full access until end of current billing period
- No Refund: Current month fee is non-refundable
- Auto-Renewal Stops: Won't be charged for next month
- After Cancellation: Account reverts to Starter plan (3.9% commission)
1.3 Pro Annual ($399/year)
- Immediate Cancellation: Cancel anytime, no penalties
- Access Continues: Full access until end of current year
- 30-Day Refund: Full refund if canceled within 30 days of purchase
- After 30 Days: No refund, but access continues until year ends
- Auto-Renewal Stops: Won't be charged for next year
- After Cancellation: Account reverts to Starter plan (3.9% commission)
1.4 Starter Plan (Free)
The Starter plan is always free. There's nothing to cancel, but you can delete your account entirely if desired.
1.5 What Happens After Cancellation
- All existing bookings remain active
- Future bookings incur 3.9% commission (Starter plan)
- Access to all features continues (with Starter limitations)
- Client data and booking history preserved
- Can upgrade to Pro again at any time
2. Photography Session Booking Cancellations
Important: Individual photographers set their own cancellation policies. MiniShoots does not control these policies.
2.1 Standard Cancellation Timeline
While each photographer sets their own policy, the platform enforces these standard timelines:
48+ Hours Before Session
- Client Can: Cancel or reschedule freely via booking link
- Refund: Photographer determines refund eligibility (typically full refund)
- Process: Automated through MiniShoots
24-48 Hours Before Session
- Client Can: Request cancellation, but must contact photographer
- Refund: Partial refund or deposit retention (photographer's discretion)
- Reschedule: Still allowed via booking link
Less Than 24 Hours
- Client Cannot: Reschedule via booking link (24-hour cutoff enforced)
- Must Contact: Photographer directly for emergency situations
- Refund: Typically no refund or deposit-only retention
No-Show
- Penalty: Photographer may charge no-show penalty
- No Refund: Full payment typically retained
- Additional Charge: Photographer may charge penalty fee
2.2 How to Cancel a Session Booking
Method 1: Self-Service (48+ Hours Before)
- Open your booking confirmation email
- Click "Manage Booking" or use reschedule link
- Select new time slot or contact photographer to request cancellation
Method 2: Contact Photographer (Less Than 48 Hours)
- Find photographer's contact info in booking confirmation
- Explain your situation
- Request cancellation or reschedule
- Photographer will process through MiniShoots
2.3 Deposit Bookings
- Deposit Paid: Photographer determines if deposit is refundable
- Balance Not Yet Paid: Balance charge won't occur if canceled before due date
- Full Payment Made: Photographer determines refund for full amount
2.4 Photographer-Initiated Cancellations
If a photographer cancels your session:
- Full Refund: You receive 100% refund, regardless of timeline
- Processing: Photographer issues refund through MiniShoots
- Timeline: 5-10 business days for refund to process
- Notification: You'll receive email confirmation
3. Emergency Situations
3.1 Weather Emergencies
Photographers can activate "Rain Plan" to reschedule all sessions:
- All clients notified via SMS simultaneously
- New date/time provided
- Automatic reschedule (no client action needed unless they can't attend new date)
- Full refund available if new date doesn't work
3.2 Medical Emergencies
- Contact photographer immediately
- Most photographers offer flexible rescheduling for medical emergencies
- Documentation may be required for full refund
3.3 COVID-19 or Illness
- Contact photographer if you or family member is ill
- Most photographers offer free rescheduling or full refund
- Do not attend if feeling unwell
4. Rescheduling vs. Cancellation
4.1 Unlimited Rescheduling
MiniShoots allows unlimited rescheduling for clients (24+ hours before session):
- No fees for rescheduling
- Change as many times as needed (before 24-hour cutoff)
- Self-service via booking link
- Instant confirmation
4.2 When to Reschedule vs. Cancel
- Reschedule if: You know you want to book with this photographer, just different date
- Cancel if: You no longer want the service or aren't sure of future availability
5. Refund Processing
When a cancellation includes a refund:
- Photographer Approval: Photographer must approve and process refund
- Square Processing: Refunds processed through Square payment system
- Timeline: 5-10 business days to original payment method
- Partial Refunds: Photographer can refund any amount (full, partial, or deposit-only)
- MiniShoots Commission: Commission is not refunded (non-refundable processing fee)
6. Account Deletion
6.1 Photographer Account Deletion
To permanently delete your photographer account:
- Email: support@minishoots.com
- Active Bookings: Must cancel or complete all active bookings first
- Data Retention: Data deleted within 90 days
- Cannot Be Undone: Account deletion is permanent
- No Refunds: Subscription fees are not refunded upon account deletion
6.2 Client Data
When you delete your account, all client booking data is also deleted (GDPR compliance).
7. Disputes
If you have a dispute about a cancellation:
- Contact Photographer First: Try to resolve directly
- Review Their Policy: Check the cancellation policy you agreed to at booking
- MiniShoots Support: Email support@minishoots.com if unable to resolve
- Limitations: MiniShoots cannot force photographers to issue refunds outside their stated policy
8. MiniShoots's Role
MiniShoots provides the platform and tools but:
- Does not control individual photographer policies
- Cannot force refunds or cancellations
- Provides dispute mediation but final decision rests with photographer
- Enforces 24-hour reschedule cutoff and unlimited rescheduling
9. Changes to This Policy
We may update this policy at any time. Material changes will be communicated via email. Continued use constitutes acceptance of changes.
